Ronny

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Male · Adult · 6 years

Ronny – confident male dog seeks experienced home with clear rules Ronny came to us at the animal shelter Berlin from a temporary placement due to a violation of the animal protection law. In his previous life, he was unfortunately not properly cared for – leading to a biting incident. For this strong and watchful male dog, we are looking for individuals with extensive dog experience who can provide him with the necessary security, structure, and leadership. What sets me apart: I am an attentive, obedient dog who pays close attention to my people. I am territorial and take my role as a protector seriously. With trusted people, I can cooperate well, but I am initially skeptical of strangers. I am eager to learn – even though my basic obedience is still developing. What I still need to work on: I require consistent, clear handling – uncertainty or inconsistency unsettle me and can become problematic. There has already been a biting incident, so I must be led responsibly and with foresight. I do not like other male dogs and react accordingly in their presence. I am subject to the muzzle and leash requirement and need a landlord permit for husbandry in Berlin. What I am looking for: A home with very experienced dog owners – ideally with breed experience. Clear, fair rules and confident leadership. A quiet, child-free home in a rural or suburban environment. No other dogs in the home. A separate area for acclimation: For the start in my new home, a separate, securely separated room (e.g., by a stable baby gate) is recommended. This way, I can settle into my new life at my own pace. Ronny is not a dog for beginners or for people who want to get a dog "just like that." He needs time, trust, a stable daily routine, and experienced people who take him seriously – then he can develop and find his peace. If you would like to meet Ronny or have questions, please contact his animal caretakers at the Idefix House. We look forward to your inquiry!

About Ronny

What life with Ronny looks like

Ronny is a medium-sized adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg in Berlin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Has bite history, requires muzzle and leash mandate, needs landlord permission in Berlin, requires separate room for adjustment period

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ronny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ronny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ronny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ronny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ronny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ronny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ronny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
