He will happily approach his carer at the open tank door to see what’s going on. He is still working out how to take a proper sand bath and how to use his exercise wheel. Ideal Home: Rooky would ideally be paired with another male gerbil of a similar age using the split-cage method, in a home with owners who are experienced and knowledgeable about gerbil bonding. However, given his age and the stress involved in the bonding process, we would also consider a home where Rooky lives on his own. In this case, his owners should provide plenty of enrichment, stimulation, and positive human interaction, if and when he chooses to engage with it. The minimum enclosure size is 100x40x40cm.
