Rose

Cocker Spaniel Β· Female Β· Young Β· 2 years

06-11-26 Rose is a sweet and timid lady who has come to us from a breeder. She is trying hard to be brave and is naturally curious, but can still be a little unsure of people. You can tell that she would love a fuss, and she will approach once she feels comfortable enough, but sometimes she just needs a little extra encouragement to find her confidence. Rose will need at least one kind and confident resident dog in her new home who she can look to for reassurance as she learns about the routines of home life. She has never lived in a home before, so her adopters will need to be patient and understanding as she gets used to her new surroundings and learns about house training and walking on a lead. She can live with older, dog-savvy children who are sensible and allow her time to settle in at her own pace. Rose may be a little nervous to begin with, but with plenty of TLC, patience and encouragement, we are sure she will continue to come out of her shell. Once she has settled in and found her confidence, she would love to enjoy plenty of walks and adventures with her new family. She is a lovely girl who just needs someone to help her find her paws! Rose has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Rose

What life with Rose looks like

Rose is a young adult cocker spaniel dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rose, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rose?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rose on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rose if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rose already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rose isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rose and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
