Rose

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 10 years

June 2016 | 50cm | 17kg | Foster home Willich We met Rose in the municipal animal shelter on Rhodes. She is such a delicate soul and has been in this kennel her entire life. Fortunately, she was able to go to a foster home in Willich at the end of August. There she lives with another dog and a young child. She does everything really well and enjoys life outside the animal shelter very much. The foster family describes Rose as a loving and gentle dog. She gets along well with other dogs and is also very child-friendly. She loves to cuddle and seeks the company of people. Rose is also fit: she likes to play with a ball and is always happy to join in. Going for walks is naturally exciting for her, she loves it. There is so much to sniff around. Sometimes she pulls a little on the leash, but she will surely learn that quickly. Overall, she has a calm disposition. In the evenings, she lies down, then the day is over for her and she sleeps through. Only any food must be kept away from her. She is just a little snack cat ☺️ We would be happy if Rose comes into loving hands. We can also imagine Rose as an "beginner dog" very well. PAW HEROES e.V. PAW HEROES e.V. About Rose

What life with Rose looks like

Rose is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at og:image in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rose, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rose?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. og:image handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rose on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rose if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — og:image will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rose already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rose isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with og:image early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rose and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
