Rosie

Mixed Breed Cat · Unknown · Kitten · 3 months

Everyone say hello to Rosie, our 12-week-old calico shorthair.Little Rosie was found abandoned and picked up by the Inspectors. She has settled perfectly in our care, and is a relaxed and calm kitten who loves cuddles. She is more than happy to come over for a snuggle when she sees you and loves being close to you, whether that be leaning into your hand or sitting on your knee. She likes to play with toys in her pod, though she sometimes finds the cat litter more entertaining!!Rosie has not yet mastered using a cat flap yet so she might need some help with this, should her new home have one! Rosie is looking to be the only pet in the home but could live with children of any age.To apply to adopt Rosie please email or download a form from our website.PLEASE NOTE THIS ASSESSMENT IS ONGOING AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE

About Rosie

What life with Rosie looks like

Rosie is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at RSPCA Preston & District Branch in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rosie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rosie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Preston & District Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rosie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rosie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Preston & District Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rosie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rosie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Preston & District Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rosie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
