Rosie

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Rosie (born 10/2023) was rescued with her puppies Doro, Lisa, and Carlo by our Romanian animal welfare partners from a remote street. The four are currently living on the animal welfare organization's outdoor grounds. Rosie is a calm dog who observes her surroundings attentively. She is still very cautious but friendly towards people. Unfortunately, the Romanian animal welfare organization does not have the time to deal with each dog, so Rosie will not be able to quickly let go of her caution towards people on the outdoor grounds. Rosie is looking for a home with empathetic people who can carefully introduce her to the world she still doesn't know. The little mouse will need some time to build trust with her humans. Rosie needs people who can give her security and show her that she can rely on them in unfamiliar situations. To avoid overwhelming her, her new home should be in a rural area or a quiet residential neighborhood. She would not mind having a confident dog friend to help her with the introduction. Rosie is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and will be placed with a contract after a positive preliminary check. General note on our protégés: Our dogs in Romania are regularly visited so we can reassess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us very much to convey a good picture of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog in a new environment - with new people, new routines, and new impressions - can also behave differently. This is normal and is part of any change process. Many dogs open up faster at home and show sides that were not visible in the shelter. Our assessments are based on current observations, but they are not a guarantee for every behavior in the new environment. They are intended to provide guidance and show how the dog presents himself in the shelter - and what potential he has. We are convinced: with patience, understanding, and a loving environment, every dog can find his way and develop positively.

About Rosie

What life with Rosie looks like

Rosie is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rosie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rosie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rosie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rosie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rosie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rosie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rosie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
