ROSIE

Mixed Breed Β· Unknown Β· Adult Β· 4 years

Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.BREED: Cocker SpanielSEX: Female (neutered)AGE: Aprox. 4 YearsSIZE: Medium (10 kg)Rosie is a total poppet, and although she has come into rescue from a non-domestic environment, and is now looking for a loving, kind and comfortable new home. She is a beautiful girl and a very good girl too. Just a day after coming to DBARC, one of our wonderful supporters who is a professional dog groomer gave Rosie a total makeover, and everyone was so impressed with Rosie! She quite literally didn't move a muscle while she was groomed and cipped perfect manners and now she looks beautiful!Rosie has not lived with children. She has not lived with cats or small pets. She is used to living with other dogs and would benefit from living in a home with another calm and friendly dog to help her learn about things that will be very new to her. She walks well on the lead but will not be used to walking in locations with traffic or in the outside world in general. Her coat will need regular attention from a groomer. She will need company most of the time. When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands. This will last for their lifetime, so please also take an honest look at your age and activity levels and ensure that you are likely to be able to meet their ongoing needs. Please fill in our Application Form if you are interested in adopting this dog(If the animal’s name does not appear in the drop down box on the form - it means the animal is already reserved)

About ROSIE

What life with ROSIE looks like

ROSIE is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at DBARC Animal Rescue Centre in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting ROSIE, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ROSIE?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. DBARC Animal Rescue Centre handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ROSIE on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ROSIE if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” DBARC Animal Rescue Centre will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is ROSIE already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ROSIE isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with DBARC Animal Rescue Centre early rather than rehoming privately; they know ROSIE and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
