adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process RÜBe has found her forever home! Her story: The little RÜBe traveled to her foster home in mid-March. Here, the puppy shows herself to be playful and open. She is very gentle and enjoys the cuddles of her foster family. At first, she reacts a bit reservedly to new people, but it doesn't take long for her to warm up. RÜBe gets along very well with other dogs. Unafraid, she hops into the car and looks forward to new adventures. There is so much to discover. Thinking about how RÜBe and her siblings arrived at our shelter, full of parasites and weak, it is wonderful to see how well she feels now and how much potential she has. RÜBe is already house-trained and has already learned a lot in her foster home. Now, RÜBe is ready for her own family. A confident only dog would be a great support for RÜBe, but it is not a must. A large garden where she can run around would also be perfect for the active puppy. RÜBe has already grown quite a bit. At about 4 months old, she weighs 9.8 kg and is 42 cm tall. She will likely reach Labbi size at full growth. For now, RÜBe is a playful, clumsy puppy girl, but soon puberty will be approaching. In which the little rascals test their owners and their limits. Positive reinforcement training and loving consequences will help get through this time well and emerge as a strong team. Children living in the home should be a bit bigger to understand RÜBe. RÜBe is vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms, and has her EU pet passport of course. She will be given a positive Thank you, Sina W., you gave RÜBe her name. Vielen Dank Sina W., Du hast Rübe ihren Namen geschenkt. Darf Rübe bei dir lernen, was das Wort „Zuhause“ bedeutet? Vielen Dank Sina W., du hast Rübe ihren Namen geschenkt. Stand: 02.04.2025

About RÜBe

What life with RÜBe looks like

RÜBe is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting RÜBe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about RÜBe?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw RÜBe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt RÜBe if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is RÜBe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if RÜBe isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know RÜBe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
