Adopt Rubel

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Rubel is a calm medium-sized dog who arrived at the shelter at the end of June 2025 as a result of an intervention in the village of Podsłupsk and is one of a dozen dogs taken from people who could no longer care for them. Due to various health issues, the dogs have been thoroughly examined, supplemented, and treated. All are now healthy. Despite living in a large group, the shelter conditions greatly scare him. For such a stressed small dog, winter is not a good time and does not help improve his condition, especially since despite better quality food and larger portions, he is not gaining weight. We are urgently looking for a warm and loving home, preferably with another dog, due to his previous history. This is a dog born around 2018, calm, and eager for human contact, delicate and almost helpless. He definitely needs a home and a quiet, caring guardian, with whom he can open up. Volunteer Patrycja says about him: Rubel is a wonderful gentle puppy who walks nicely on a leash, and during walks is full of energy and smiles. Sometimes he is still a bit unsure and seeks confidence in a person or a canine companion. He loves people he has already met and enjoys being cuddled. Whoever takes him into their home will be a great lucky person!

Psiaki, w związku z różnymi problemami zdrowotnymi, zostały skrupulatnie przebadane, wdrożono suplementację i leczenie. Wszystkie doszły do zdrowia. Mimo życia w sporej sforze warunki schroniskowe bardzo go przerażają. To piesek urodzony ok. 2018, spokojny i spragniony kontaktu z człowiekiem, delikatny i wręcz nieporadny. Kto weźmie go do swojego domu, będzie ogromnym szczęściarzem!

About Rubel

What life with Rubel looks like

Rubel is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rubel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rubel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rubel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rubel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rubel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rubel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rubel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
