Rubin

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten

Rubin is a 4-month-old kitten who was rescued with her mother (Curie) and her 4 siblings from an underground garage in Tassin-la-Demi-Lune, rue Joliot-Curie. This large family (of scientists!) was then split between 2 families to allow her to be properly cared for and socialized. Rubin, named after Vera Rubin - the discoverer of dark matter - is a beautiful black and white kitten. She is the most adventurous of the litter. She is mischievous, curious, playful, and very food-motivated. She is a clingy kitten but doesn't enjoy being petted yet. Rubin is fostered with her sister Hopper, her brother Hubble, and her mother Curie. All four are cats that are both independent and close to humans. They will need a bit more time to discover the joys of human contact. The family lived outdoors for a long time and expresses their need for access by spending most of their time on the window (secure

About Rubin

What life with Rubin looks like

Rubin is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Association EACPV — Entraide Amis des Chats et des Pigeons des Villes in France.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rubin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rubin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association EACPV — Entraide Amis des Chats et des Pigeons des Villes handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rubin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rubin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association EACPV — Entraide Amis des Chats et des Pigeons des Villes will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rubin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rubin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association EACPV — Entraide Amis des Chats et des Pigeons des Villes early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rubin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
