Rubin and Citrin Name: Rubin and Citrin Gender: Male Breed: EKH Date of Birth: 06/19/2026 Reason for Animal Shelter Stay: Born in the shelter at RS since: 06/19/2026 Health Restrictions: No Description: Rubin and Citrin were born in our shelter and are now looking for a loving home. They are currently very shy and reserved. However, when it is quiet around them, their curious side comes to the fore and they begin to explore their surroundings. We wish for Rubin and Citrin to find patient people who give them a lot of time and peace. They need a home where they are not pressured and can build trust at their own pace. We would prefer a quiet home without children and other animals, where the two can arrive together and feel safe. About Rubin und Citrin

What life with Rubin und Citrin looks like

Rubin und Citrin is a kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Remscheid in Remscheid.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rubin und Citrin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rubin und Citrin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Remscheid handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rubin und Citrin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rubin und Citrin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Remscheid will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rubin und Citrin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rubin und Citrin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Remscheid early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rubin und Citrin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
