RÜDiger

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Rüdiger is a dog who makes life just a little bit brighter. Whoever gets to know him will immediately understand why: he's very people-oriented, incredibly loving and wonderfully uncomplicated to be around. That's why we hope he finds his big happiness soon - a home where he can truly belong and find his place as an integral part of a family. Rüdiger is actually a 2-year-old mixed breed dog who would score a perfect 10/10 just by his nature, but his appearance also fits perfectly - a really cute guy on short legs. His bright, longer and slightly fluffy coat invites you to stroke him, and that's exactly what Rüdiger enjoys. Currently, Rüdiger lives in a Romanian foster home with many other dogs, from small to large. The coexistence works without problems and shows how social and tolerant he is. He would certainly be happy about a friendly dog companion. Just as important for him are his humans who give him the necessary attention with enough activity and joint play and romping times. Whether he also gets along with cats, we don't know yet. Rüdiger has already gained some first experiences, he even knows how to drive a car. Nevertheless, there is still a whole new experience waiting for him in his future life. Other reference persons, walks through unknown streets, everyday noises or maybe the first café visit - all this will be exciting for him. With people who are happy to show him the world, give him security and give him the time that every dog needs for a fresh start, he will definitely develop very well. After a positive preliminary check and the assumption of a deposit fee, Rüdiger travels castrated, chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, flea-free and with an EU pet passport. Who has fallen in love with heartbreaker Rüdiger? Even a foster home could give him the first step into a sheltered life. Thank you to Rüdiger's godparents for taking on his name sponsorship. Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About RÜDiger

What life with RÜDiger looks like

RÜDiger is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting RÜDiger, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about RÜDiger?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw RÜDiger on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt RÜDiger if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is RÜDiger already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if RÜDiger isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know RÜDiger and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
