Adopt Rudolph

Unknown

Rudolphe is a 11-month-old kitten. He came to us as a stray. Rudolphe has not yet much trust in people. When being petted, he still dares to blow and scratch. On the other hand, he is a curious boy! We believe that our lovely boy will fully blossom in a home environment. He will not be placed with children. Rudolphe is looking for a place as an indoor cat! Who can give him a warm home? If you are interested, you can send us an email with detailed answers to the accompanying questionnaire. Emails without answers will not be replied to. Spontaneous visits are not possible. Please do not call. We would like to know first about your home and work situation. - Are there children present? If yes, how old? - Are there dogs present? - Are there other pets present? - What type of housing do you have? Do you rent or is it your own home? - Do you have experience with cats? If yes, what happened to the previous cats? - Where will the kitten sleep? Where will the kitten live? - Where will the cat be during the day/during your absence, indoors or outdoors?

About Rudolph

What life with Rudolph looks like

Rudolph is a adult cat waiting at Dierenasiel Sint-Hubertus in Aalst.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rudolph, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rudolph?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Sint-Hubertus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rudolph on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rudolph if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Sint-Hubertus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rudolph already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rudolph isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Sint-Hubertus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rudolph and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
