Rufi

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 1 month

Rufi - A unique youngster is looking for a wise home! Are you looking for a dog with an original appearance who values clear rules and a partnership relationship? Meet Rufi! He is about one year old, a charming fluffball with beautiful biscuit-colored fur who is eagerly looking for his place on earth and a person who will understand his character. Rufi is a young dog who is not the type to "stick" to you at first sight - he has his own opinion, values space and clearly communicates his boundaries. Rufi's advantages - what is he like on a daily basis? A walking champion: Rufi really walks nicely on a leash. Walking with him is a pure pleasure - he doesn't pull, he likes to explore the area and adjusts to the pace of the owner. Friendly but not pushy: His relationship with other dogs is very good. He usually just ignores them, doesn't look for unnecessary teasing and easily passes other dogs on walks. If he were to go to a home where there is already a dog, introductory walks would be necessary. Young and teachable: He is only about a year old, so it's the ideal age for learning and building the right habits together. Character and communication (Important!): Rufi is not an effusive dog and will not like pushy familiarization or forcing him to be affectionate. This is a dog who can take care of his own comfort - when something is very unpleasant or he feels uncertain, he barks loudly, and in the end, he can growl. This is his way of saying "I need space." We are looking for a home for him that will not consider this a flaw, but a clear message that should be respected and worked through in a calm atmosphere. For whom will Rufi be the ideal friend? For an adult or a family with older, teenage children who can respect the dog's boundaries. For someone who is looking for a stable, calm companion for walks, not a cuddly dog. For a consistent and patient caregiver who likes and can read the dog's body language. Rufi was born around 08.2025. He is dewormed, vaccinated, chipped, flea-free and neutered. Contact for adoption during shelter hours at 667 706 607. Remember that the description you just read applies to the dog's behavior in shelter conditions. The dog's behavior may change in a new home.

🌾 RUFI – Wyjątkowy, młodzieniec szuka mądrego domu! Szukasz psa o oryginalnej urodzie, który ceni sobie jasne zasady i partnerską relację? Poznaj Rufiego! About Rufi

What life with Rufi looks like

Rufi is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rufi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rufi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rufi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rufi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rufi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rufi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rufi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
