Ruhig

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

Birthdate: 25.11.2019 EU Vaccination Certificate: vaccinated, microchipped, Compatible with Dogs: yes Compatible with Cats: yes Sunny waits for people with hearts who will show her that she will never be left again. Sometimes, dogs come into our lives whose stories touch our hearts. Sunny is one of them. The small female dog was found in Romania completely neglected, severely emaciated, and with ticks. Like many unwanted dogs, she was simply discarded and left to her fate. Despite experiencing how cruel people can be, Sunny has not lost her trust. Today, the approximately 25 cm small female dog lives on a foster home in Romania and shows every day anew what a wonderful treasure lies within her. Sunny is a quiet, balanced, and loving female dog who enjoys the company of her people. She is house-trained, uncomplicated in everyday life, and meets her surroundings calmly and friendly. She also gets along problemlessly with other dogs and cats. She does not seek chaos or adventures – Sunny simply wishes for a safe place, loving people, and the security she probably never really got to know. With her esteemed eight years, Sunny does not belong to the young dogs anymore. That is why we hope she will not be overlooked. Often, it are the older dogs who become the most faithful companions. They have nothing left to prove, but simply want to arrive and be loved. Who will give this brave little female dog a second chance, which she so deserves? Almost all of our dogs show themselves to be extremely friendly to people, dogs, and cats in Romania. Nevertheless, it should be considered that all dogs must be trained and integrated into family life in the new home. If you want to give the wonderful Sunny a home, please call one of our phone numbers: In a personal conversation, we can answer questions and discuss our placement criteria.

About Ruhig

What life with Ruhig looks like

Ruhig is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at TierOase ThoMa e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ruhig, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ruhig?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. TierOase ThoMa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ruhig on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ruhig if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — TierOase ThoMa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ruhig already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ruhig isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with TierOase ThoMa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ruhig and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
