Rummeli

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! Rummeli has found a home! His story: Rummeli is one of the lucky ones. Rescued from the public shelter where they still euthanize, he is now ready for a new life, a second chance. The handsome fellow has a medium size of about 50 cm and weighs 20 kg. He has beautiful fluffy fur in the most beautiful shades of brown, beige, and gray, and a proud mane. With a tender age of about 1 year, he has a whole doggy life ahead and wants to make the most of it. At first, Rummeli is usually a bit reserved, but his curiosity soon wins out and he warms up. He loves being stroked, but he is always respectful and not distant. Generally, he is more quiet and balanced, and so far he has handled new situations quickly and gotten along well. Rummeli is a social dog who gets along with fellow animals. Additionally, he already walks well on a leash, although that will require some more practice in the long run. He still has a lot to learn and does not know what life in a home is like. Therefore, we wish for people who are aware that he is not yet a "ready" dog. People with love, empathy, and patience in their hearts. Because if that is given and his family moves forward with loving and clear guidance, we have no doubt that Rummeli will become a companion that you will not want to leave. Who still has a spot in heart and home for this charming puppy? Of course, a foster home would also be a big step on his way to a long and happy doggy life. Rummeli has packed his bags and is neutered, microchipped, treated for fleas, and dewormed for his new home. His EU pet passport is already packed. Rummeli sends a big thank you to Elke and Ute F.! Thanks to you, he has an identity and the chance at a family. As of: 04.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 04.04.2026

About Rummeli

What life with Rummeli looks like

Rummeli is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rummeli, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rummeli?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rummeli on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rummeli if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rummeli already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rummeli isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rummeli and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
