Runa

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Curious puppy girl Runa is searching for her dog bed. The little Runa had a difficult start in life: born together with her 8 siblings, she was left behind in a shopping mall in Bulgaria. Today, she lives safely in our Bulgarian partner shelter and is waiting to travel to her own home or a foster home starting in July. Runa is a friendly and curious little puppy who wants to step by step discover the world. She meets people openly and enjoys affectionate attention. She also gets along well with other dogs and shows herself to be social and open-minded. Like every young puppy, Runa is still at the very beginning of her life and must learn many things. This includes house training, being alone, car rides, walks on a leash, and different environmental stimuli. With patience, understanding, and positive reinforcement, she will surely grow into a wonderful companion. For Runa, we wish for people who will give her time, build her trust, and help her adapt to her new everyday life. A puppy means not only joy, love, and many beautiful memories, but also responsibility, patience, and work. Since we do not know her parent dogs, possible herding dog components cannot be ruled out. Therefore, we wish for Runa a suitable home, preferably in the countryside with a securely fenced garden. Who would like to give Runa the chance at a happy dog life? Adopting a shelter dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also be a challenge. The dogs bring a backpack of past experiences or unlearned situations with them and need time to adjust to their new lives. If you have serious interest in adopting Runa, please contact the responsible mediator at the SALVA Dog Aid. We would also be very happy to hear about the possibility of a foster home for her.

About Runa

What life with Runa looks like

Runa is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Runa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Runa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Runa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Runa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Runa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Runa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Runa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
