Adopt Runa

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Description Our animal welfare workers report: This impressive beauty received the name Runa from us. She had been wandering the streets alone for several days when we received the message. We brought Runa to our animal shelter, even though we already had no more space, but helping is not an option for us, it's a heartwarming duty! Unfortunately, we can say nothing about Runa's background, but we are getting to know her properly and can only report positively. Runa gets along very well with the other dogs; she is sociable and clingy and cuddly with people. She enjoys playing with the other dogs and would definitely appreciate having her own sovereign dog bed. A warm, large dog bed and perhaps even a garden would make her very happy. We wish for her to find her family soon, where she can belong. Who has a heart for Runa and a free spot? Update 25.04.2026: new pictures, text update: Runa is a very affectionate and sociable female dog who gets along well with people and other dogs. She likes to play, for example, with the Podenco, which she shares a run with. When she is allowed out on a leash, she runs around for 10 minutes and plays a lot, then she lies in the shade and relaxes. She has been with us for over two years now – another female dog who was doomed to live in a run where days turned into years. 31.07.2025 new pictures 02.10.2024 new video 10.07.2024 new photos Please note:

About Runa

What life with Runa looks like

Runa is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Runa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Runa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Runa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Runa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Runa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Runa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Runa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
