Rupert

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Details: : Age: Born 28th February 2024 Sex: Male Colour: Black and White Rupert is such a lovely cat. He is a big boy with lots of love to give to his new owner. When anyone visits the cattery he’s there at the front of his pen trying to attract attention, but so far it hasn’t worked and Rupert is still waiting He will really enjoy having a home where there is a nice garden to run around in. He might be best in a home where he is the only pet as he really will enjoy having lots of fuss. Rupert will make a wonderful addition to a family. As with all of the cats his new home MUST be one which is away from busy roads. Vaccinated. Neutered. Microchipped.

About Rupert

What life with Rupert looks like

Rupert is a large young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Cheadle & District Animal Welfare Society in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rupert, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rupert?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Cheadle & District Animal Welfare Society handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rupert on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rupert if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Cheadle & District Animal Welfare Society will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rupert already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rupert isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Cheadle & District Animal Welfare Society early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rupert and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
