adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Rusty has found a home! His story: Five beautiful puppy siblings currently live in a private shelter in Baia Mare and are hoping for your support! The little puppies were found together with their mother on a busy street. Unfortunately, the rescue came too late for the sixth sibling, which was already lying overpowered on the roadside. But the surviving little ones are truly brave puppies, who have developed into handsome, strong, and healthy puppies. They are about two months old and are looking for a new home. The cute, two-colored Rusty is a typical playful little male puppy. He loves playing around with his siblings and gets along well with all other dogs. With people, he is very friendly but still a bit reserved and shy. Probably, he just needs a little more time, love, and affection to truly trust humans. Rusty is an eye-catching beautiful puppy. He has fluffy, white-brown fur and a wonderful, contrasting facial marking. From his brown round eyes, he looks expectantly into the camera, because we have promised to find him a great place in an engaged and dog-loving family. Still, Rusty is a small puppy, but he is expected to grow into a beautiful, medium-sized dog. Of course, at his young age, he has no experience with life as a house dog and has not heard of house training or leash walking. Rusty has to learn all of this. In a few months, he will enter puberty, which can bring everything he has learned so far into disarray. Rules are often reevaluated and boundaries tested in this life phase. But with a loving and consistent training style, you can support Rusty in this phase and help his development into a well-mannered and self-assured young family dog. We wish adopters who will take him in with love and patience, give him a family connection, a warm dog bed, wonderful walks, and enough contact with fellow animals. But we would also be very happy about a suitable foster home for the sweet puppy. After the adjustment period, we would recommend a visit to a positively working dog training class, where Rusty can train together with his new family and gain positive experiences. Rusty can be named after. We thank the namingsponsor Lore N., who gave the brave Rusty his name and thus a personal identity. As of: 30.01. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 30.01.2026

About Rusty

What life with Rusty looks like

Rusty is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rusty, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rusty?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rusty on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rusty if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rusty already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rusty isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rusty and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
