Rusty, a mixed-breed male, was born around 2014 and has a shoulder height of approximately 30 cm. He was found on September 25, 2024, in the woods near the animal shelter. No one knew him or inquired about him. It is possible that he was intentionally left near the shelter. It is unknown. Initially, Rusty was suspicious of us. He needs a few days to adjust. He is now much more lively and alert...and doesn't find it amusing to be locked up. Being alone is not one of his strengths. Rusty seems to get along with other dogs. Occasionally, there is a "nose" that doesn't feel right to him. The little guy loves going for walks and cuddling. Whoever gives him time to adjust will definitely win his trust. He already shows what he wants and what he doesn't. Therefore, one should be able to read a dog correctly. Rusty was placed for a few months and returned to us at the end of July. He had health problems, which also affected his temperament and made him very irritable during that time. He was treated for a pancreatic disease. This is now complete and further blood tests are still being conducted. As a precaution, he still receives special food. Back at the shelter, he was skeptical for a short time, but quickly settled in and is now happy with everyone here and especially on walks. Rusty is looking for a quiet home - without children - with dog lovers who can read and understand him.

Mischlingsrüde Rusty ist ca. 2014 geboren und hat eine Schulterhöhe von ca. 30 cm. Er wurde am 25.09.24 im Wald in der Nähe des Tierheims gefunden. Niemand kannte ihn oder fragte nach ihm. Vielleicht wurde er bewußt in der Nähe des Tierheims ausgesetzt. Man weiß es nicht. Rusty war anfangs erst misstrauisch uns gegenüber. Er braucht ein paar Tage um anzukommen. Inzwischen ist er schon viel munterer und aufgeweckter...und findet es nicht mehr so lustig weg gesperrt zu werden. Allein zu sein, gehört nicht zu seinen Stärken. Rusty scheint mit Artgenossen soweit klar zu kommen. Ab und zu gibt es schon mal "eine Nase", die ihm nicht geheuer ist. Der kleine Mann geht sehr gerne spazieren und kuschelt auch gerne. Wer ihm Zeit gibt richtig anzukommen, gewinnt bestimmt schnell sein Vertrauen. Er zeigt schon an was er will und was nicht. Daher sollte man einen Hund schon richtig lesen können. Rusty war einige Monate vermittelt und kam Ende Juli wieder zu uns zurück. Er hatte gesundheitliche Probleme, was sich auch auf sein Wesen ausgewirkt hat und er in dieser Zeit sehr reizbar war. Er wurde aufgrund einer Bauchspeicheldrüsenerkrankung behandelt. Diese ist nun abgeschlossen und weitere Blutuntesuchungen werden noch durchgeführt. Vorsichtshalber bekommt er aber noch weiterhin spezielles Futter. Zurück im Tierheim war er kurze Zeit skeptisch, hat sich aber schnell eingewöhnt und freut sich inzwischen über jeden hier und besonders auf die Gassigänge. Rusty sucht ein ruhiges Zuhause - ohne Kinder - bei Hundefreunden, die ihn lesen und verstehen können.
