Adopt Ryś

Mixed Breed · Male

Rudy is a special male cat who is looking for a loving and caring place that will be his home. Rudy is an older cat with kidney failure, but this does not prevent him from enjoying life. He is available for adoption, but he will need regular visits to the veterinarian as well as a special diet and medication. Rudy is currently feeling great - he eats with appetite, has a good mood, is full of energy, runs and plays. He likes contact with people and cats, purrs and squints his eyes in satisfaction when he is stroked on his belly. Unfortunately, whenever someone shows interest in Rudy, it always ends up the same way - the cage is opened and then closed with him inside. No matter if it's a lady or a gentleman, young or old person, the reaction seems to always be the same, due to Rudy's illness. The best medicine for him will be a home and love. If you are ready to take care of Rudy and provide him with care, we will cover all costs related to treatment. This cat's FIV status applies — see shelter for details.

About Ryś

What life with Ryś looks like

Ryś is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja EkoStraż in Wrocław.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ryś, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ryś?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja EkoStraż handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ryś on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ryś if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja EkoStraż will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ryś already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ryś isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja EkoStraż early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ryś and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
