Adopt Saba

Female · Senior · 13 years

Hello everyone, I am a lost soul looking for a new home; unfortunately, my previous family can no longer take care of me. I am thin and pretty like a heart but alas, my past has left me with some scars. I have chronic gingivitis, so I need to be pampered but also receive appropriate care. I am kind and gentle, but I am so afraid of being forgotten forever... a shadow among shadows. To be happy, I need the human by my side. I dream of sharing moments of tenderness and affection with someone who will understand my needs. If you have other cats, they must be up to date on their vaccinations. If you think you can offer me an appropriate and especially loving home, don't hesitate to come meet me. I am eagerly waiting to find the one who will give me the chance to be pampered again.

About Saba

What life with Saba looks like

Saba is a senior cat waiting at S.P.A Vauclusienne in Piégon.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Saba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Saba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. S.P.A Vauclusienne handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Saba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Saba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — S.P.A Vauclusienne will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Saba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Saba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with S.P.A Vauclusienne early rather than rehoming privately; they know Saba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
