How do I contact the shelter about Sabrina?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Centro de Proteccion Animal de Madrid handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sabrina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Sabrina if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Centro de Proteccion Animal de Madrid will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Sabrina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Sabrina isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Centro de Proteccion Animal de Madrid early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sabrina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Sabrina

European Shorthair · Unknown · Young · 1 year

I'm a gorgeous black cat about 1 year and 9 months old. Although I'm still young, I've already experienced the cold and fear. I was probably born in a cat colony, and one day I appeared hiding under a car, very scared and sick. Luckily, that day my luck changed. I was rescued, brought to the shelter, and thanks to all the care I received, I'm now completely healthy, strong, and recovered! I left my past on the streets behind and now I'm looking to the future. Being in the shelter has been my springboard to get well, but life in a cage or shelter is too small for me. I'm eager to get out of here and find a real family that gives me the opportunity to show all the love I have inside. As a young cat under two years old, I have the perfect balance: I'm curious and eager to explore the world, but I also seek the stability and comfort of a home. Black cats who have suffered on the streets are the most grateful in the world when they are given a good sofa and a daily plate of food. I'm spayed, healthy, and ready to go. Will you let me make magic in your life and become your best companion?

¡Mucho gusto!

About Sabrina

What life with Sabrina looks like

Sabrina is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Centro de Proteccion Animal de Madrid in Madrid.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.
