Adopt Sacha available

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Female · Young · 2 years

Hi... I’m Sasha!I'm only a young girl, around 2 years old, and I came to the centre from the pound, and my time had run out... I was going to be put to sleep. But somehow, I got a second chance and now I’m hoping that second chance leads me to you.I’m a very sweet girl, with a big heart and, if I’m honest, quite a lot of feelings. I feel things deeply, love, excitement, curiosity and once I trust you, I’ll show you just how affectionate I can be. I really enjoy being close to my people, whether that’s for fuss, cuddles, or just quietly hanging out together.I also have a fun, playful side! I love playing tug (I can get quite into it!) and toys are one of my favourite things. Give me something to carry, chase, or shake around and I’m a very happy girl. I can get a bit excitable, but that’s just because I enjoy life, I just need the right outlets and someone who understands me.Sometimes I can feel a little unsure, especially around bigger dogs. It’s not that I don’t want to be brave, I just need time, patience, and someone who will help me feel safe rather than rushed. Because of this, I’d be happiest as the only pet in the home, where I don’t have to worry and can just relax into being myself.I think I’d do best in an adult-only home too, somewhere calm, understanding, and predictable, where I can settle at my own pace and build a strong bond with my person. All I really want is a place where I feel safe, loved, and understood. I’ve been so close to losing everything once... so I promise, if you give me a home, I’ll give you my whole heart in return. About Sacha available

What life with Sacha available looks like

Sacha available is a large young adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at National Animal Welfare Trust in Watford.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs adult-only home, prefers to be only pet, can be unsure around bigger dogs

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sacha available, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sacha available?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. National Animal Welfare Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sacha available on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sacha available if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — National Animal Welfare Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sacha available already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sacha available isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with National Animal Welfare Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sacha available and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
