Name: Sally Breed: Mixed breed Gender: Female, spayed Size: 62 cm Weight: 15.5 kg Age: 09-2025 In the shelter since: July 18, 2026 Sally is a lively young lady dog with boundless energy and a head full of dreams—she was recently taken in by us from our Romanian animal welfare colleagues in Brasov. She arrived at the municipal shelter there as a stray before being transferred to the private Victory Shelter, from where she was able to travel to Germany. Until September 2025, the municipal shelter in the Stupin district was located in an industrial area on a property with several buildings. These premises had been leased by the city of Brasov to house stray dogs. Since October 2013, our partner organization AMP has been caring for animals not only at the private Victory Shelter but also at the municipal shelter in Stupin. Previously, around 30,000 dogs had been brutally captured and killed there by the notorious dogcatcher Flavius Barbulescu. Fortunately, thanks to cooperation between the city of Brasov and AMP, this practice could be brought to an end. In April 2025, the responsible authority decided to merge the municipal shelter with the Brasov Zoo into a single organization. This led to a number of challenges: different areas of responsibility, the old operating license no longer being valid, and the need to apply for a new one. However, due to certain deficiencies for which the owner was responsible but failed to address, obtaining a new operating license proved difficult. Luckily, AMP managed to convince the relevant office at the city hall that it made more sense to relocate the municipal shelter to the former Victory Shelter. This move took place at the end of September 2025, meaning the municipal shelter in Stupin is now history and can continue its dedicated work at a new location. Both at the municipal shelter and at the private Victory Shelter, there are on average between 100 and 150 young dogs who have been abandoned by their owners—left out in the middle of nowhere, dumped in garbage bins, or simply left at the shelter’s gate. In their homeland, these animals have virtually no chance of survival.

Dort ist sie als Fundhündin ins städtische Tierheim gekommen, bevor sie in das private Victory Shelter umziehen und von dort aus nach Deutschland ausreisen durfte.Bis September 2025 befand sich das städtische Tierheim im Stadtteil Stupin in einem Industriegebiet auf einem Grundstück mit mehreren Gebäuden. Diese wurden von der Stadt Brasov gepachtet, um dort die Straßenhunde unterzubringen. Zum Glück konnte AMP das zuständige Amt im Rathaus davon überzeugen, dass es sinnvoller ist, mit dem städtischen Tierheim in das alte Victory Shelter umzusiedeln. Dieser Umzug fand Ende September 2025 statt, so dass das städtische Tierheim Stupin Geschichte ist und an einem anderen Ort seine engagierte Arbeit fortführen kann.Sowohl im städtischen Tierheim als auch im privaten Victory Shelter gibt es durchschnittlich 100 bis 150 Junghunde, die von ihren Besitzern nicht mehr gewollt, mitten in der Pampa ausgesetzt, in Müllcontainern oder einfach vor dem Tierheimtor entsorgt werden. In ihrer Heimat haben diese Tiere so gut wie keine Chance auf
