adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Sally has found a home! Her story: May we introduce….Here comes the sweet cuddly furball Sally with the fluffy fur! Sally is approximately 2-3 years old and weighs around 5 kg with a size of 30 cm. She is a curious, young female dog, she loves to explore the outdoors, already walks well on a leash, and knows the first basic commands. Sally is very people-oriented and incredibly cuddly, the foster kids at her foster home love her deeply and passionately. She is open to strangers and her affection for fellow animals and people is noticeable. In the house, the golden Sally can happily entertain herself with her toys, loves the garden, and takes her downtime. She also calms down well in unfamiliar surroundings. The evenings with cuddles and brushing have become a beautiful ritual for her. Walking with Sally is really fun! Dog encounters always go friendly, cyclists and joggers barely interest her, and she curiously observes new things. Overall, Sally has a totally loving personality, is already house-trained, and sleeps through the night. Even driving with Sally works problemlessly. She is simply the perfect everyday companion! Sally is looking for people who won't expect anything from her and will show her how a normal doggy life works. She is still a young pup and has a lot to learn. One or two mishaps shouldn't be held against her, and Sally should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. She is looking forward to her new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling hours, and also a visit to the dog training class. Sally is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, neutered, and treated for fleas. With a positive EU pet passport, she comes to you. Will you give Sally her very own home? Thank you Stephie! You have given Sally a beautiful name and a chance at a new, well-cared-for life. Status: 18.11.

About Sally

What life with Sally looks like

Sally is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sally, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sally?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sally on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sally if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sally already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sally isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sally and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
