Adopt Saloman

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten · 6 months

adoption requirements adoption process Ask about this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Ask about this cat now! The approximately 6-month-old tomcat Saloman was found on the street along with his siblings. The kittens were suffering from a respiratory infection at the time, but they could fortunately be treated and are now recovering. Unfortunately, one of his siblings did not survive. Saloman is currently living in the cat room and shows himself to be a shy, cautious kitten that needs time to build trust with people. As a former stray kitten, he does not yet know close contact with humans well. When he feels uncertain, he sometimes hides or hisses briefly - not out of aggression, but out of fear. However, with patience, calmness, and loving care, he can learn that people mean well with him. Therefore, we are looking for a quiet home with understanding people who will give him the time to adjust at his own pace. It is also important to have cat companionship, because Saloman gets along well with other cats and should not be kept as a single cat. Whether he gets along with dogs has not been tested yet. Since Saloman has lived as a stray cat so far and is still very cautious, he will not be rehomed to a home with free access, but to an apartment suitable environment with enough space, places to retreat, and ideally a secured balcony. Who will give this sensitive little tomcat the chance for a loving home and show him how beautiful a cat's life can be in safety? Before Saloman moves to his new home, he, like all our cats and tomcats, will be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He will also be tested for FIV and FeLV. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

About Saloman

What life with Saloman looks like

Saloman is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Saloman, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Saloman?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Saloman on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Saloman if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Saloman already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Saloman isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Saloman and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
