Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Kitten

**Available from 9th August 2026** Hi everyone, I am the beautiful Salt! I came to YCR with my amazing mummy and siblings after we were found all alone outside. Now I have done some growing in my foster home I am ready to find my furever family, I can't wait!! My foster mummy says I am soo adorable and affectionate! I love to be wherever you are, I will follow you around like I am your shadow! I love lots of fuss and attention including being strokes and having my tummy rubbed. I also love to cause kitten chaos with my siblings, I love to chase them and play all day! I should be ok living with cats, dogs or children as long as the right introductions are made. The team here at YCR can help you with this. If you think I am the girl for you please click 'Apply Here' and fill in the application form. I can't wait to meet you!! xxx

About Salt

What life with Salt looks like

Salt is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at Yorkshire Cat Rescue in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Salt, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Salt?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Yorkshire Cat Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Salt on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Salt if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Yorkshire Cat Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Salt already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Salt isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Yorkshire Cat Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Salt and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
