Salz und Pfeffer

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Sally, female, and Pepper, male, neutered, Dwarf Rabbits, born June 2023 The two Dwarf Rabbits, Salz und Pfeffer were born in June 2023 and are searching for a new home. They came to us as surrender pets together and are siblings. Both rabbits are rather shy and therefore require sensitive owners who can give them the necessary time to build trust. We are looking for a loving home for Salz und Pfeffer with indoor living, where they have enough space to play and hide. A quiet environment would be ideal for their personalities. Interested parties can contact us to obtain more information or arrange a visit.

About Salz und Pfeffer

What life with Salz und Pfeffer looks like

Salz und Pfeffer is a young adult mixed breed rabbit waiting at Tierheim Ludwigsburg in Ludwigsburg.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Salz und Pfeffer, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Salz und Pfeffer?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Ludwigsburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Salz und Pfeffer on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Salz und Pfeffer if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Ludwigsburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Salz und Pfeffer already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Salz und Pfeffer isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Ludwigsburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Salz und Pfeffer and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
