Adopt Sam

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

A Loyal Companion Waiting for His Second Chance. Sam was originally adopted as a pub but sadly returned to the refugee for one of the strangest reasons he was "too big." Despite that, Sam has proven to be a gentle and loyal company in the home, with no real issues apart from needing someone who understands him. Having once known the love of a family, Sam was understandably confused when he found himself back in the refugee. But he's adapted well and has become a favorite among the volunteers. Each morning, he gets you with a wildly waging tail, full of enthusiasm and love. He's increasingly loyal to the people who care for him and is very protective of them a test to his big heart. Sam gets along well with people and most dogs, though he can be a little selective at times. He may be hesitant to go for walks with unfamiliar people, but with a bit of encouragement (and maybe a treat or two), he will come around. Some volunteers take him to the beach, one of his favorite places and he's always a star passenger in the car. In a forever home, Sam would throw either as the only dog or with a calm, female dog company. It's important to see Sam outside the kennel environment to truly understand his loving nature. While he sometimes acts like a guardian at the refugee, that doesn't reflect the sweet, affect dog he really is. If you're looking for a crazy best friend who will adore you unconditionally, Sam might just be your perfect match. Come meet Sam, he's worth getting to know.
