Sam und Nala

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Sam was born on 01.07.2023. He was initially shy but became very friendly afterwards. He loves being brushed, especially on his belly. He is very curious and affectionate. He likes to lie on the ground and show his belly. Nala was born on 01.11.2022. She is always in charge. She explores a lot and jumps around everywhere. She is also initially a bit reserved, but she can't get enough of being stroked afterwards. If she likes someone, she runs around with them. She loves having her head scratched. What she doesn't like is being brushed. Both cats like to sleep in the bed. Nala also likes to lie on top of it. Sam is more reserved, while Nala is the cat who must be everywhere. Both cats are vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. They are both neutered and absolutely house-trained. The bigger one is Sam and the smaller one is Nala. For any questions, you can reach me at the phone number provided. This animal was surrendered to the shelter. This animal can be anxious in unfamiliar situations.

About Sam und Nala

What life with Sam und Nala looks like

Sam und Nala is a large young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Eifeltierheim Altrich in Altrich.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sam und Nala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sam und Nala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Eifeltierheim Altrich handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sam und Nala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sam und Nala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Eifeltierheim Altrich will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sam und Nala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sam und Nala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Eifeltierheim Altrich early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sam und Nala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
