Samba

Labrador Retriever · Female · Senior · 12 years

Samba - lovable Labrador female dog in pocket size is looking for her luck The enchanting female dog Samba has unintentionally ended up at our partner animal shelter in Spain. Now she is eagerly waiting to leave this chapter behind and travel quickly to a loving home or initially to a foster home in Germany. With a shoulder height of about 45 cm, Samba is a miniature Labrador female dog. Above all, however, she convinces with her wonderful nature. She is extremely friendly, lovable, uncomplicated and people-oriented. Samba meets her surroundings openly and warmly and makes it easy for her humans to take her into their hearts. She is a real cuddle bunny. Unfortunately, we do not know what experiences Samba may have had in her previous life. Therefore, we cannot say what she already knows and what she will learn anew in her new home. Lovers of older dogs know that even these dog seniors are still surprisingly capable of learning. With a little patience, loving consistency and a bit of humor, she will certainly master the German dog multiplication table quickly. Labradors are usually very bribable with food, which also helps to reward and thus consolidate desired behavior. We wish for Samba people who give her time to settle down in peace and show her how beautiful a sheltered dog life can be. For this she will thank you with her loving nature and as a loyal companion. Who gives this special female dog the chance of a new beginning? Samba would be happy to move in with people who may not be among the very young ones, but are just as spry as Samba.

About Samba

What life with Samba looks like

Samba is a senior labrador retriever dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Samba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Samba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Samba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Samba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Samba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Samba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Samba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
