Samson Jack

Male · Adult · 6 years

Samson Jack is a British Longhair cat born in 2020 who, despite his health limitations, deserves another chance at a loving home. He came to us as part of a seizure from a situation that was detrimental to animal welfare. It was discovered that Samson Jack has chronic heart failure from birth. This condition is permanent and requires consistent medication. Samson Jack shows his most endearing side to his humans: he is very affectionate and enjoys attention. We wish for him a home where he can finally arrive and receive the attention he deserves. Due to his heart condition, Samson Jack needs a quiet, stress-free environment where he is not constantly exposed to new stimuli or chaos. He must receive his medication consistently and reliably. The willingness to have his condition monitored by a veterinarian and to accommodate his special needs should be a given. We are looking for people with heart who are not expecting a perfect, healthy cat but want to give a special animal a chance. A home where he can relax, cuddle extensively, and simply be a beloved housemate. If you would like to meet him, please click the "Request Cat" button and fill out the online form completely. This will provide us with all the relevant information for an initial conversation.

About Samson Jack

What life with Samson Jack looks like

Samson Jack is an adult cat waiting at Tierheim Ludwigshafen in Ludwigshafen/Rheim.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Samson Jack, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Samson Jack?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Ludwigshafen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Samson Jack on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Samson Jack if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Ludwigshafen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Samson Jack already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Samson Jack isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Ludwigshafen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Samson Jack and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
