How do I contact the shelter about SAMY?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA 65 Tarbes handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw SAMY on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt SAMY if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA 65 Tarbes will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is SAMY already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if SAMY isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA 65 Tarbes early rather than rehoming privately; they know SAMY and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

SAMY

Male · Puppy · 6 months

Samy, a mixed breed Miniature Pinscher, returned to the shelter on September 21, 2026, as he was deemed too energetic. We would like to remind you that Samy is a high-energy breed that will require exercise and training, especially at his young age. Samy is a friendly, sunny, and affectionate dog. At his age, he gets along well with both his canine and feline companions. Please note that reservations cannot be made via message. If you are interested in adopting Samy, please complete the following questionnaire and return it to the shelter or drop it off in person. Samy will be placed with a family that already has a companion animal and/or a family that has the time to care for and train this bundle of love. A deposit will be required from his future family, which will be used to cover the cost of neutering. Please remember that Samy is not a stuffed animal that can be returned to the store. As adorable as he is, he will likely make some mistakes. Adopting him means committing to caring for him for the next 10 to 15 years, or even longer for the lucky ones!

About SAMY

What life with SAMY looks like

SAMY is a puppy/kitten dog waiting at SPA 65 Tarbes in Tarbes.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.
