Adopt Sandra

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Female Date of Birth: 01.01.2018 Health Record She is Sandra, a very sweet dog, in the age of 7 years. She is looking for her person and a home where she can give all the love she is capable of. Our dear old Sandra, wants to convey that if you are thinking about adopting a senior dog but were unsure if you should take this step, you can find below several reasons why not only is it a wonderful idea but also a significant advantage for your family: 🟢Senior dogs, in most cases, are already trained, and they do not need the same amount of time invested in training as puppies; in addition, they can learn tricks much more easily than puppies, being much calmer and with a much greater capacity for concentration. 🟢Due to their age, they no longer have the energy of a younger dog and are thus perfect for people who prefer a more laid-back companion who can snuggle on the couch for most of the day, being the perfect partners for a well-deserved marathon of TV series at the end of a tiring week. 🟢Adopting a senior dog leaves no room for surprises – you will know from the start about their size, ideal weight, behavior, and temperament, as well as important details about their daily needs. So, if you do not like surprises, a senior dog will offer you exactly what you need: predictability and reliability. 🟢Not to mention, in most cases, senior dogs, who have gone through some not-so-pleasant experiences, have much stronger feelings of appreciation towards their new or long-standing owner compared to a younger dog – they know they have been given a second chance at a better life and will not stop showing it. ❕Sandra wants to emphasize that senior dogs are, far too often, overlooked by most potential adopters who prefer the youngest, especially puppies; thus, the dogs who were once small and cuddly, who had families that chose them based on age and then abandoned them for various reasons, end up spending their last years of life without the warmth of a loving family, despite being just as loyal, loving, and eager to live a good life as a younger dog. Therefore, Sandra will invite you to give them a chance, and our dogs who have passed their prime and are just waiting to prove the love they can offer if you adopt them! ❤️ If you like our old Sandra and want to adopt her, please let us know: leave us a phone number so we can call you.

About Sandra

What life with Sandra looks like

Sandra is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Asociatia ROBI / 4animals.ro in Romania.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sandra, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sandra?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Asociatia ROBI / 4animals.ro handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sandra on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sandra if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Asociatia ROBI / 4animals.ro will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sandra already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sandra isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Asociatia ROBI / 4animals.ro early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sandra and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (RO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
