Sanga

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt now this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Sanga can stay! His story: Dream Dog Sanga is looking for a partner for long cuddle sessions and floor tumbling! Sanga is a world champion at rolling forward 😃 He loves to crawl into people and has the mischief in his neck. He likes to kip and has fortunately managed to keep his humor and sunny disposition. We hope to keep it that way for him and that the wonderful Sangas can soon pack his bags and start his new life. Sanga will definitely bring lots of love, joy, fun, and good mood to every home, and it will never be boring with him. Sanga has already settled well in his foster home and was house-trained from the first day. He sleeps a lot, enjoys lying in the garden, and looks forward to cuddle sessions. He can also be left alone. Cats should not live in the household, as he shows a prey drive. Sanga was completely exhausted and emaciated when the dog catchers brought him to the public shelter of Bistrita. We don't know what he went through before. But we suspect, based on his injury to the right eye and a still visible injury on his head, that his short life so far was far from beautiful. Sanga was fortunately nourished and cared for by the local helpers. He is very attached to people and is always friendly, open, and curious. He is also getting along well with his dog buddies. Yasper was his big friend, they often played in the courtyard. Unfortunately, Yasper died of a stomach torsion in May 2025 😓 Sangas' left, amber-eyed eye stands out immediately from his dark mask. His right eye is unfortunately no longer there. It looks like Sanga was born with only three claws. Walking doesn't seem to bother him. The veterinarians say that the paw is congenital. This is currently being examined in Germany. Sanga is likely a Kangal-Mix. We cannot rule out that Sanga brings herding qualities with him when he settles in, or when he is fully grown. Therefore, we are looking for a home that has experience with these qualities or is willing to deal with them and above all brings the optimal conditions. Sanga is looking for a rural home with a garden. And preferably a home with little to no visitors or changing people. Herding dogs bring great qualities. People who already have experience with herding dogs don't want any other breeds, as they, despite their big heads, are very loyal and faithful companions. We hope so much that he can now experience the beautiful sides of life and learn that there are people who only want the best for him. Sanga is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He brings an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive match. Who will give him a loving forever home? Many thanks to Susanne! You named Sanga. Last update: 13.09.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Sanga darf bleiben! Vielen Dank an Susanne! Du hast Sanga seinen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 13.09.2025

About Sanga

What life with Sanga looks like

Sanga is a extra-large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sanga, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sanga?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sanga on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sanga if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sanga already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sanga isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sanga and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
