Saniah

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Saniah is a 2024-born female dog who was born on a farm in Romania and gave birth to her puppies there. Her owners could not care for the little family and made the difficult decision to give Saniah and her babies into the care of animal welfare organizations. Since then, she has been living with her family in the garden of a private foster home in Romania. There, Saniah is a wonderful mother who cares for her puppies with endless patience, affection, and love, protecting them and giving them the security they so desperately need. However, this safety is only temporary. Soon, Saniah and her puppies will have to leave the foster home. If no families are found, they will be moved to a shelter. We would like to spare her that fate. Saniah is an incredibly friendly and gentle dog. She knows how to live with people and greets both adults and children openly, lovingly, and trustfully. With her delicate stature, she almost looks like a little elf - unobtrusive, friendly, and simply irresistible. Saniah treats other dogs and even cats respectfully and kindly. Saniah has been spayed. The day will come when her puppies find their own families, and she must say goodbye to them with a heavy heart. After all she has done as a mother, we so much hope that she won't be left behind. She shouldn't have to wait in the shelter for someone to discover her one day. She should experience what it feels like to have her own bed. What it is like to be loved without having to earn it. She should run through meadows, discover the world, and have people by her side who will never leave her again. RW 5 has already given his heart to his puppies. Now we are looking for people who can give their hearts to Saniah. Perhaps you are the happy ending this enchanting dog mother is so desperately hoping for. Saniah shouldn't have to wait in the shelter for someone to discover her one day. Interested? If you are interested in Saniah, please fill out our application form () or send us an email at or a message via Facebook. Saniah is ready to travel and can go with the next transport to Germany. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces is the database system that monitors all animal traffic within the EU. The dogs travel spayed (if old enough), vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, and have an EU passport. Furthermore, a rapid test for the following diseases will be performed on dogs over 12 months before departure: Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, ehrlichiosis, dirofilariasis, and leishmaniasis. Ingrid P. has taken custody of Saniah and thus ensures that her bowl is always full. Thank you in the name of the dogs!

About Saniah

What life with Saniah looks like

Saniah is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Saniah, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Saniah?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Saniah on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Saniah if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Saniah already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Saniah isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Saniah and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
