Sansa

Female · Senior · 9 years

Which dog owners; inside we are looking for Sansa: In the new home, no children and other pets or dogs are allowed. One needs a lot of patience, time, and understanding for their quirks. The new owners should be interested in dog training classes and training that is based on positive cooperation. The new owners should have experience with challenging dogs and know their needs, as well as ideally have an understanding of the breed and the willingness to work with a muzzle. We would be happy if you could clarify this beforehand. History of the dog (why at the animal shelter) Sansa came to the animal shelter Paradiesli because the family situation of the former owners changed and they were no longer suitable for her. Breed: Doggo Argentino Born on: 12.09.2017 Country of origin: Switzerland Since in the animal shelter: September 2024 Character and behavior Sansa is a laid-back lady. She selects her people herself, to whom you would like to have more contact. She likes her cozy beds, and in the new home, she will probably also enjoy the sofa. However, she does not share it. Outdoors, she is laid-back, but she still finds it difficult to meet other dogs when she cannot avoid them. Food is sacred to her, and she would like to do it all day. Unfortunately, the sweetie cannot eat everything, as she is an allergy sufferer. With other dogs, Sansa cannot get along, and there, sympathy is key. With small dogs, she simply does not understand them. We do not see Sansa living with another dog in the same home. The visit to the vet and body checks via the shelter staff are not at all to her liking, and she shows this with strong defensive behavior. Despite medical training, this has not improved much to date, and for more detailed examinations, Sansa must be sedated. Would you like to meet Sansa and give her a home? You are welcome to call us to arrange a meeting.

About Sansa

What life with Sansa looks like

Sansa is a small senior dog waiting at Stiftung Paradiesli, Tierheim für Ob und Nidwalden.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sansa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sansa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stiftung Paradiesli, Tierheim für Ob und Nidwalden handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sansa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sansa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stiftung Paradiesli, Tierheim für Ob und Nidwalden will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sansa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sansa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stiftung Paradiesli, Tierheim für Ob und Nidwalden early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sansa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
