Adopt Sansa

European Shorthair · Female · Young · 2 years

Sansa is a 2-year-old kattinnetje. She came to us after being homeless. Sansa hasn't had the easiest life and the most comfortable living conditions, which has made her a bit wary of humans. She's still a bit hesitant to be petted, but we can already pet her quite well and she doesn't scratch. She is looking for loving people who will give her more time and patience to open up further. She can be placed with an already existing cat. She is not to be placed with children. Sansa can only be placed as an INDOOR CAT! Who can give her a warm home? If interested, you can send us an email with detailed answers to the corresponding questionnaire. Emails without answers will not be replied to. Visiting us spontaneously is not possible. Please do not call either. We would like to know first about your home and work situation. – Are there any children at home? If so, how old are they? – Are there any dogs at home? – Are there any other household pets? – What type of home do you have? Do you rent or own it? – Do you have any previous experience with cats? If so, what happened with the previous cats? – Where will the cat sleep? Where will the cat live? – Where will the cat stay during the day/when you are away, indoors or outdoors?

About Sansa

What life with Sansa looks like

Sansa is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Dierenasiel Sint-Hubertus in Aalst.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sansa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sansa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Sint-Hubertus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sansa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sansa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Sint-Hubertus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sansa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sansa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Sint-Hubertus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sansa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
