Sansa

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Sansa is a three-month-old female mixed breed dog, approximately 34 cm tall and weighing 4.5 kg. She was born around the beginning of July 2026 and is not yet spayed. Sansa was abandoned at the end of a village along with her siblings, but fortunately, she and her brother are among the lucky survivors. They were taken in by a volunteer and are now hoping for a forever home. Sansa is a curious, confident, and lively young dog. She is eager to explore her surroundings and is not easily intimidated by new things. She seems convinced that the world is waiting to be discovered by her. She is open, friendly, and sociable with people, quickly accepting strangers and showing no hesitation in approaching them. She is happy, interested, and eager to make contact, just as one would expect from a curious and cheerful puppy. She enjoys attention and loves to be petted and cuddled. However, she usually explores first and then relaxes and enjoys the attention. Sansa is playful, lively, and more active than her brother Herbie. She loves adventures, play, and movement and enjoys interacting with her surroundings. She is not just wild, but curious and attentive. Her caregivers describe her as brave, confident, and a bit mischievous in a charming way - just enough to make everyday life interesting. She loves toys, but be careful, as any object can become a toy. Sansa has not had much direct contact with other dogs due to her young age and incomplete vaccination. She will soon be introduced to the dog group. As with any puppy, socialization should be carefully and positively built up after completing the vaccinations. So far, she has shown herself to be open, friendly, and curious, so there is no reason to expect difficulties. Like her brother, Sansa has not yet fully experienced the world. Walks, different streets, unfamiliar places, many different dogs, and everyday environmental stimuli are still ahead of her. This is simply because she is not yet fully vaccinated. Her future family should be prepared to continue socialization gently and gradually, showing her step by step what is part of a normal dog's life. Sansa has already mastered her first car rides to the vet, being calm, uncomplicated, and showing no particular uncertainty. She already has a good foundation. Sansa is a typical young dog that still has much to learn. Topics such as house training, being left alone, leash training, recall, and general everyday rules will be part of her further development, which her caregivers are already practicing. At the same time, she brings good conditions with her openness, curiosity, and affection for people. She seems to enjoy learning new things and actively participating in family life. We are looking for people who enjoy a lively, active, and curious young dog and want to discover the world together. Sansa needs exercise, occupation, loving guidance, and clear rules - but also quiet phases, closeness, and many cuddles. Sansa is a little adventurer with a big heart: playful, brave, curious, affectionate, and full of joie de vivre. If you choose her, you will definitely not get a boring companion, but a dog that makes every day a little brighter. All our dogs are, of course, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped with an EU passport! Rasse: Mischling. About Sansa

What life with Sansa looks like

Sansa is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Grenzenlose Notfelle e.V. in Dittelbrunn.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sansa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sansa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Grenzenlose Notfelle e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sansa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sansa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Grenzenlose Notfelle e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Sansa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sansa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Grenzenlose Notfelle e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sansa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
