Sansa

Rottweiler · Female · Adult · 7 years

My name is Sansa, I’m 7 years old, and despite my serious expression, I’m a lively, full-of-life dog. My greatest joy? Sniffing every scent I come across. It’s my favorite activity! A walk with me is like an actual olfactory investigation. I’m also a very attentive dog who listens closely to humans: I know basic commands, walk perfectly on a leash without pulling, and love sharing calm moments with people I trust. Oh, and there’s one thing that totally melts me—scratches on my back! 🥹 That’s really what I adore most. If you find just the right spot, you’ll get to see my happiest look ever. On the other hand, don’t count too much on treats to win me over... I’m not really a big foodie! My story is a bit more complicated... I ended up in a shelter after a life-altering incident. One day, while I was eating, my owner came close to give me a kiss. I couldn’t stand that intrusion and bit her. I have resource-guarding behavior around food: when I’m eating, I just need to be left alone. My owner didn’t want to take me back. It wasn’t out of lack of love—she kept checking in on me and worrying about my future. But her age and the situation made her realize it would be better if I found a family more able to meet my needs. Today, I’m not looking for a “perfect” family. I’m searching for THE family that’ll accept me just as I am—a family that truly knows or wants to understand Rottweilers, a family ready to invest time, respect my boundaries, and build a relationship based on trust. For my safety and everyone else’s, I won’t be able to live with children. As for other dogs, I tolerate them from a distance. I’ve lived with another dog before, but today I’d feel happier being the only pet in the house. I’m not yet sure how I’d get along with cats. I’m not a perfect dog—I have my quirks, my past, and my needs. But if you take the time to understand me, you’ll discover a loyal, intelligent, and deeply endearing dog—a dog who loves exploring the world, getting scratches on her back... and who’s simply waiting for someone to finally give her the second chance she deserves. ❤️ ⚠️ Sansa is a category 2 dog. Therefore, her adoption is subject to current regulations. Prospective adopters must hold a possession permit.

Ma propriétaire n’a pas souhaité me reprendre.

About Sansa

What life with Sansa looks like

Sansa is a adult rottweiler dog waiting at Association Quatre Pattes, Un Toit in Saint-Sauveur.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sansa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sansa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Quatre Pattes, Un Toit handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sansa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sansa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Quatre Pattes, Un Toit will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sansa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sansa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Quatre Pattes, Un Toit early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sansa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
