Was Freiheit oder Geborgenheit bedeutet, wusste sie nicht. Im Refugio ist sie nun sicher, und zum ersten Mal bekommt sie einen kleinen Eindruck davon, wie sich das richtige Leben anfühlt. Es ist erstaunlich, dass Sara trotz ihrer Vergangenheit so viel Lebensfreude besitzt. Sie kommt mit anderen Hunden zurecht, verträgt sich auch mit Katzen, doch was uns am meisten beeindruckt: Sie liebt Menschen! Eine freundliche Berührung, und schon öffnet sie ihr Herz.
