Star (Merel) Ponette Appaloosa Female Born on 21/07/2009 (16 years and 10 months) Star is one of the horses seized from the Bastogne side at a horse dealer. She was in a sad condition when we recovered her, she remains cautious, but is very kind. Her former owner has just been sentenced by the authorities in a highly anticipated judgment at the Neufchâteau criminal court. Jean-Louis Ligot was sentenced to six months in prison with probation, a fine of 15,000 euros with probation for four fifths, and two years' ban from owning equines, sheep, cattle or goats. A light sentence that should not however satisfy the horse dealer who made a scene during the prosecutor's closing arguments. "You kill me if you issue this judgment," he had insisted when it was a question of banning him from owning these animals. This dealer had let several animals die of thirst in November 2013. He was also not in order regarding the animal passports in his possession and had to answer numerous violations of AFSCA standards. Elle était dans un triste état quand nous l'avons récupérée, elle reste sur ses gardes, mais est très gentille. Son ancien responsable vient d'être condamné par les autorités dans jugement très attendu au tribunal correctionnel de Neufchâteau.
