adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Scarlet has found her home! Her story: The wonderful Scarlet lived previously in a small family with an older lady who had lovingly cared for her. Unfortunately, the owner passed away, and her relatives could not keep Scarlet as she unfortunately does not get along with cats. Now, Scarlet is searching for a new home where she can rest and feel at home again. Scarlet is very open and clingy with people, she loves contact, enjoys closeness, and would like to be there. She gets along well with other dogs, showing herself to be social and friendly. Only with cats, it unfortunately does not work, so her future home should be cat-free. In her age, Scarlet is in the transition period from puberty to adulthood. Some youthful quirks can still come through, such as occasionally testing boundaries or overflowing energy. Whoever accompanies her through this life phase with patience and offers her clear structures and a loving environment will have a loyal companion by their side. Scarlet likely already knows the basics of living in a house, but depending on the new environment, she may need to adjust to routines, sounds, or rules in the first few days. A quiet adjustment, time to settle in, and perhaps a visit to a positively working dog training class would help her feel safe and secure. Scarlet travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She possesses an EU pet passport and can be transported after a positive our area. Many thanks Bianca, you gave Scarlet her beautiful name and the chance at a new life! Do you have a spot free for the pretty Scarlet, so she can be part of a family again? Status: 20.07.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Scarlet

What life with Scarlet looks like

Scarlet is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Scarlet, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Scarlet?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Scarlet on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Scarlet if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Scarlet already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Scarlet isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Scarlet and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
