adoption requirements adoption process Adopt now this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Schnuppi can travel directly to his final home! His story. Multicolored Puppy Band searches for their people! Dopey, Candy, Isipho, Schnuppi, Callida, Gino, and Pia have been eagerly waiting for your inquiry! The siblings were found alone near a farm when they were just 2-3 days old. The poor little ones must have been freshly abandoned. We took the rattle band into our care and raised them with bottles. Now the little ones are around 3 months old and all are doing well. We are now searching for a home for each little racker! Do you have the desire to take in a puppy? Schnuppi has a heart to give! He wishes so much for his own home with people who will give him a life full of love. On-site, Schnuppi shows himself to be playful, friendly, and curious. He enjoys being petted and is not afraid of new things. Schnuppi is currently around 3 months old and we assume he will grow to be medium to large. Schnuppi is looking for people who won't have too many expectations of him and will show him how a normal dog life works. He is still a baby and has a lot to learn. One or two mishaps shouldn't be held against him and Schnuppi should always be guided with a positive training style. He is looking forward to his new life with beautiful nature walks, many cuddle hours, and also a visit to puppy school. In the first year of life, puppies should be as little alone as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the little racker's life upside down. They "forget" much of what they have learned and their ears are on high alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to be consistent but loving in their upbringing. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Our Schnuppi is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated. He brings his EU pet passport and can travel after a positive review. Even a foster home would be helpful! Who falls in love with the handsome male dog and gives him a loving home? Many thanks, Lotti v. P.! You gave Schnuppi his sweet name! Many thanks, Elke F.! You support Schnuppi with a monthly sponsorship! As of 27.05.

Vielen Dank Lotti v. P.! Du hast Schnuppi seinen süßen Namen geschenkt! Vielen Dank Elke F.! Du unterstützt Schnuppi mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft! Stand: 27.05.2024

About Schnuppi

What life with Schnuppi looks like

Schnuppi is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Schnuppi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Schnuppi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Schnuppi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Schnuppi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Schnuppi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Schnuppi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Schnuppi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
