adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Schnute has found her home! Her story: Cheyenne, Paul Kohlhase, Schnute and Minza are four wonderful siblings found in the vicinity of our private animal shelter in Fantanele. They were all in a bad state and had to be rehabilitated first. But we have four fighters here! All are now well and ready to travel to their family. Schnute, oh yes, and what a Schnute she is! She gives us a sweet smile for a quick camera shot before she's back to playing with her siblings. Schnute is an approximately 4-month-old female dog who playfully explores her surroundings, and humans are always welcome, and if she gets a toy, the lively blonde is simply happy. Now she's looking for the two-legged ones who will give her a forever loving home. As Schnute is a mixed-breed female dog, we cannot predict what characteristics she will develop as she grows or what her final size will be. She is likely to be a medium-sized dog. Schnute is looking for people who won't have too many expectations of her and will show her how a normal dog life works. She is still a baby and has a lot to learn. One or another mishap shouldn't be held against her, and Schnute should always be guided with a positive training style. She is looking forward to her new life with beautiful nature walks, many snuggling hours, and also a visit to the puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the little rascals' lives upside down. They "forget" often what they have learned so far, and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to train consistently but lovingly. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Our Schnute travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to her home. Who will give the little sweetie a roof over her head? Many thanks to Simi B.! You gave Schnute her perfect name! Date: 11.06.

Vielen Dank Simi B.! Du hast Schnute ihren passenden Namen geschenkt! Stand: 11.06.2024

About Schnute

What life with Schnute looks like

Schnute is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Schnute, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Schnute?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Schnute on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Schnute if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Schnute already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Schnute isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Schnute and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
