Scooby (26-452)

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

Scooby is a puppy around 4 months old who was found abandoned in a residential area. He is friendly, happy and a bit shy in new situations. Once he feels comfortable, he likes to snuggle up in your lap when given the chance. On walks, he enjoys running, playing and getting into mischief as a typical puppy. After being a bit uncertain around other dogs at first, he relaxes after a while and starts playing. In a new home, Scooby may be hesitant at first, but he shows courage fairly quickly and starts exploring his surroundings. At the kennel where he is currently staying, he can usually be left alone. He chews on his blanket or toys. However, since Scooby is still learning about life and building his confidence, it is important to introduce alone training gradually, just like with other aspects of dog ownership. When handled and groomed, Scooby is usually cooperative. He needs time and patience from his family to understand that unfamiliar things don't have to be scary. Scooby is looking for a family that will help him build his self-confidence and give him all the love he has to give. He can get a bit stressed from too many people, so he may need support. Scooby's dream is a home where he can play, run and discover the world. We believe Scooby would thrive in a family with children and maybe even with a friendly and secure dog companion who can teach him about life as a dog. At the same time, we think he could also thrive as a single dog, where he gets all the attention for himself. Is it perhaps with you that Scooby will develop and be showered with love?

SV·Show original

About Scooby (26-452)

What life with Scooby (26-452) looks like

Scooby (26-452) is a small puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Amazing Friends in Säter.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Scooby (26-452), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Scooby (26-452)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Amazing Friends handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Scooby (26-452) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Scooby (26-452) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Amazing Friends will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Scooby (26-452) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Scooby (26-452) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Amazing Friends early rather than rehoming privately; they know Scooby (26-452) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
