Scotti

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Scotti is a large mixed breed male born in September 2017, who came into our care from the Füzesabonyi animal welfare Foundation. Scotti's story is full of sadness, he was taken home as a puppy, but now he was no longer needed because he had grown up. The 10-month-old boy was tied to a metal rod, without a doghouse. Scotti has been living with us for many years, and unfortunately has never been lucky, there was never any interest. Never. He is very friendly and approachable with people, but unfortunately this cannot be said about other animals, therefore we recommend him as a single dog. Scotti still runs around with the energy of a young pup, so he would feel best in an active, sporty family. ONLY give as a family dog, not suitable for guarding! Vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, give only to full family members! More pictures HERE!

About Scotti

What life with Scotti looks like

Scotti is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Must be only dog in household, not suitable for guard duty

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Scotti, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Scotti?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Scotti on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Scotti if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Scotti already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Scotti isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Scotti and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
