Scratchy lived as a stray before arriving at the shelter, where he was taken in to provide him with a safer environment. Before his arrival, he had a tendency to attack neighborhood cats, which made community life difficult for him. He is an independent cat who has learned to fend for himself for much of his life. Scratchy is fearful around humans and will need time, patience, and respect to feel confident. He is not aggressive but prefers to keep his distance until he feels safe. His past as a stray has greatly influenced his behavior and explains his need for autonomy as well as his difficulty in cohabiting with other cats. Regarding his health, Scratchy carries the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). He will require regular veterinary care to best preserve his comfort and quality of life.

Scratchy vivait errant avant son arrivée au refuge, où il a été pris en charge afin de lui offrir un environnement plus sécurisé. Avant son arrivée, il avait tendance à s’en prendre aux chats du voisinage, ce qui compliquait sa vie en communauté. C’est un chat au tempérament indépendant, qui a appris à se débrouiller seul pendant une grande partie de sa vie. Scratchy est peureux avec l’humain et aura besoin de temps, de patience et de respect pour se sentir en confiance. Il n’est pas agressif, mais préfère garder ses distances tant qu’il ne se sent pas en sécurité. Son passé d’errance a fortement influencé son comportement et explique son besoin d’autonomie ainsi que sa difficulté à cohabiter avec ses congénères. Concernant sa santé, Scratchy est porteur du Sida du chat (FIV). Il nécessitera un suivi vétérinaire régulier afin de préserver au mieux son confort et sa qualité de vie.
